From the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti, i.e., 14th January, 2018, Nyas started managing the Vishram Sadan near AIIMS. It was built by Power Grid Corp. of India Ltd. for the lower-income group patients coming from different states and also neighbouring countries to AIIMS, Delhi for the treatment.
From that day, the Nyas is managing it efficiently to the satisfaction of AIIMS management. The average occupancy remains above 80% of its capacity and many times reaches to 100%. It has become the first preference for the patients coming regularly to AIIMS.
Professional Housekeeping staff maintains the building inside and outside up to the mark. The food service available here on payment basis provides food 3 times a day at the bare minimum cost without compromising on the quality of food.
in last financial year, i.e., 2019-2020, the total number of attendants who stayed in the sadan was 10979 out of which around 7000 were from UP and Bihar. But the best part is that we had the attendants from almost all the States including far eastern States like Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Odisha also had their presence. We also had the patients coming from neighbouring countries, Nepal and Bangladesh.
During the lock down period due to the Corona Pandemic, the OPD was shut in AIIMS which forced the patients to go back to their native places. During this period, the Corona Warriors, the medical staff of the AIIMS giving treatment to Corona patients were made to stay here. To give them the utmost comfort, the Nyas made some extra arrangements like providing coolers in the rooms and more healthy and nutritious food for their better health. This service is still going on.
After the Corona crisis is over, the normal functioning will be restored there. Hope it happens very soon.
